Plimmerton Retaining Works

• Replacement of an old failing crib wall surrounding a property in Plimmerton and adjacent to a public walkway. The walkway had been previously closed as the crib was leaning sufficiently to cause a safety hazard.

• The work comprised progressive sawcut and removal of the crib sections followed by installation of a large timber pole retaining wall and anchored shotcrete section.

• The project was made difficult due to the requirement to protect the existing residential dwelling, fences and pool immediately above the wall from damage. This negated the traditinoal excavation of a temporary batter slope.
